Stop the religious & political

//Religious wars and political wars are absurd!!!!//

Right now I am worried about the continual and perpetual war between religions. I fear that the world will respond to what is happening with a fervor to pursue war as the one and only option to end many years of religious and political tension. War costs a substantial amount of money, has a death-toll,it is traumatic for those who are involved on the battle field, and it continues to perpetuate the tension. Wars stop the progression of humanity and puts a focus on such pointless and counter-productive things, which is detrimental to humanity as a whole because there are things that are far more important that merit intimidate attention.

Religions should come to a mutual respect for each other. After all, no one religion is right, no one religion is supreme, no one religion should rule this world just because of the belief that their own religion is the one and only way in this world. ( Please note that this also applies to politics and different governments systems of the world.)

It's easy, if everyone can learn to "agree to disagree."

Although religions do not share the same sets of beliefs...at least share we can share our humanity with one another as a common grounds and work towards a goal of peace. When all religions can put their pride aside and put the past where it belongs I dont see why it would be hard for the world to reach peace.

Think of the positive ramifications if we could focus and start working towards solutions, such as... being united as one planet to in a monumental effort to solve global problems. image a world without religious tensions, without the worry of war. image all the possibilities of what could be funded with combine efforts of all nations. World hunger as well as illiteracy could be obliterated, cures could be found for cancers, the fields of astronomy and space exploration could be further funded and we could learn more about the universe we live in. Imange the joy of living if such were true, the world would be a completely different place.

If humans are to survive we all need to be united in the effort to continue environmental awareness to restore our planet, space exploration for future generations, and further the field of medicine to make life more easy for those who are sick.

But alas, this is not the world as we know it, at least not now. Unfortunately politics, war, and religion seem to be the stumbling points for humanity at moment. I can only hope that I can talk to enough people in my life time and break down as many biased, blinded, and un-merited preconceptions so that maybe I can change this world for the better in hopes to bring some sort of global understanding.

Like I have said before "If humans stop progressing intelligently and focus on such frivolous things that stop the progression of mankind then that is the point where humans stops evolving in thinking and is endangered of being wiped out."

Preconceptions, assumptions, and sterotypes

As much as our society has changed and moved into a new era of lattes, computers, and iPods there is still a modern stereotype when it comes to the appearance of either a man or a woman. A lot, so it seems, to go into ones thinking after viewing a person on the. How we look and how we portray ourselves seems to dictate our judgment of that person. Whether or not its logical or illogical.

Truly, it is saddening to think that in this modern age that certain people, because of the way they dress, cannot be accepted for who they are. The person could be brilliant, intelligent, unique and slightly quirky yet dawn the outer mask of black lip stick, white face, and black eye shadow.

Silly preconceived notions and assumptions.....

Assumptions are beliefs or ideas that we hold to be true — often with little or no evidence required. Which is why such ways of thinking can be extremely counter productive.

It saddens me to think that what is on the outside is how one is perceived, never mind the person on the inside.

Its amazing how many social disorders and mental disorders can occur because of this mindset and way of life. Such a foolish, short-sighted, vain way of looking at our fellow man that has such monumental effects on the human mind. It could be prevented entirely if people could change their ways of looking at each other.

We are often misled by our perceptions. Our perceptions can be faulty which then result in our critical thinking about situations to become faulty as well.

Such preconceptions and assumptions really bother me. One such notion is the stereotype of a man who wears some makeup (even if its just eyeliner) is automatically deemed gay. Pig-headed bullies tease, torment, and even go to the lengths to terrorize these men based off of their looks and noting more. No one ever seems to ask these people their life story, they never seem to bother to ask them out right if they are gay or not. What it all boils down to is a stupid assumption and ill conceived notions that is rarely true to begin with.

I do not know how to even begin to address the faults of assuming something to be true without verifying the assumption to even know if it is even founded on any sort of truth.

Someone wise once said:

"We can really get messed up in our problem solving and critical thinking if we continue to proceed in our actions based on invalid assumptions. We must always validate and test our assumptions to be sure that our assumptions are based in reality. We must always avoid jumping to assumptions especially if they are negative or illogical. We need to never ignore the obvious and recognize that by taking things for granted one can fall into the biggest trap of invalidated assumptions. Critical Thinking is very dependent on the open assessing, validating, and clarifying of assumptions. Assumptions lie at the root and foundation of what make critical thinking different from other forms of thinking and problem solving. So pay attention and heed the lessons to be learned in dealing with assumptions."

I wish all people, epically young and impressionable teens, could read this and re-evaluate their preconceptions and basic assumptions of people.

Why the world needs great thinkers

If humans stop progressing forward intelligently and focus on such frivolous things that stop the progression of mankind - then thats the point where humans stops evolving and is endangered of being wiped out. If mankind is to ever survive for centuries to come many advancements in the awareness and actual prevention of the planet and our surroundings needs to be taken seriously, furtherance of education would be needed for all (not just for the privileged in 1st world countries), spending money on war will have to stop so it can be spent advancing technology and science (And not contribute to something that only wastes the planets resources needlessly, money for such a horrible cause, and the waste of such precious human life)

What we need now is to do what our ancestors did all those years ago, and progress for our survival. The key to us surviving is the furthermore of our knowledge and adapt to survive. For example, so many STDs, cancers, viruses continue to exist today, spreading around, and killing - its in the better interest for humans to peruse scientific advances if curse, vaccines, and prevention. Also, due to the dire need, humans now need to adapt their ways of life to preserving the planet, because as it slowly dies our own habitation dies off (just like animals in the wild who lose their habitat to deforestation and become extinct)We as a population need to prevent that from happening, or Nasa might actually need to colonize other planets in order for the human populace to continue to exist. These are just a few examples how we need to adapt to survive, and why we desperately need thinkers among us.

Mankind has survived thus far because of cave mans original need to adapt and survive on the planet, it was all out of the dire need for the human species populate the earth and flourish. In the cave mans need to adapt came thinking, emotions, and a sense of their fellow man (the first concepts of humanity)

Though, it seems as if people have fallen into a lack luster life-style because there is no need for humans to populate and adapt to survive like the original cave men had to. So if we fall into patterns and become ignorant as a whole, then there is no hope for men to survive.

I applaud those who go to school, sit down and have in depth conversations for they are thinkers and will help society progress. I also admire scientists, physicists & astronomers, and mathematicians who continue their pursuit of knowledge for the betterment of humanity. If we survive for centuries to come, it will be because of them
