China surpassing the USA economically

The something some what alarming and very intriguing occurring right now in the world. Long regarded communist China's economy is slowly surpassing that of our own United States economy. Not too long from now, it will replace this country as the worlds strongest economic powerhouse.

With more than twice as many people as the U.S. and Europe combined, this is the most populous, fastest-growing major economy in world history.

Since the late '70s, China's economy has doubled every eight years. In that same period, the U.S. economy has doubled once.

Today, the average Chinese have some ten times the purchasing power they had just a quarter century ago. At this rate, China reaches our current level in about two decades, passes us in about three.

I applaud China for what they are doing, even as a country that has long roots in ancient culture and a modern communistic government. Even as so, they are not the stereotypical "impoverished 3rd world nation" anymore. (as many ignorant people see)

Currently, United States has many things to worry about as far as the economy this economy goes, the biggest being the this war. While the US has to worry about funding a war with an astounding budget in the billions per year the war has been soaking up US resources, time, and most certainly money, certain countries are creeping up and starting to surpass the US, in several areas. We fall behind more and more as countless US tax dollars fund a most pointless war.

In these last 7 years of this war a hold has been put on medical advances, technology, and economic growth to support such a veracious war budget. Though, sadly, it is happening on a level that countries not at war have the liberty to surpass the us in technological areas, medical areas, and economic areas.

I am most intrigued to see what will happen when they do pass the US and how the majority denizens of this country will react. I am hoping it will be a positive reaction and one to see the need for detrimental change in this country. To see that we are lagging behind in technology and in the economy, because of pointless wars. To see that we need change in many polices and many changes in the government.
